Why i keep and breed lizards...

As lizards become more populair as pets the demand also rises. Unfortunately still some species are being wild caught for the pet trade with a lot of death lizards as a result.

My main goal is to breed a few lizard species who could make great pet lizards if they are offered as captive bred. By offering captive bred offspring we can battle the demand of wild caught animals for the pet trade. 

Wild caught animals have their place in herpetoculture if they come in the hands of a responsible experienced breeder to produce captive bred animals.

Sustainability

I mainly breed species that are still imported in big amounts from their native habitat. This is a situation that is not sustainable. With offering captive bred lizards I try to give an alternative for wild caught lizards.

Research

Through breeding projects there is a possibility to contribute valuable data to scientific studies on lizard behaviour, reproduction, and habitat preferences. Writing articles for specialized magazines is an important part of this.

Education

I use my lizards to educate the public about the importance of them in the ecosystem and how they can be conservation ambassadors.
